Ebriety Juke Box Music Player

"When I was looking for a website designer for the Norwich rock band Ebriety I needed somebody that could produce something a little more creative than the ordinary run-of-the-mill business websites. The lads from the band wanted a music player on their website before anything else - I was expecting the usual play list linked to Windows Media Player, but what Paul came up with was a fully functional 'virtual Wurlitzer juke box' and it was on the site within a couple of days. I'm impressed. At the time of writing this review the rest of the site is still under development and not available to the public, but from what I've seen of it this is exactly what the lads from Ebriety are looking for. Paul is very easy to get along with, flexible in his approach and understands the technical side of things to a degree that's way beyond me." - Band Manager (Ebriety).

Ebriety are a talented up-coming rock band based in Norwich who wanted their own website to showcase their music and videos, display news items such as venues & dates for gigs, allow contact with the band and "some other cool stuff". The project is currently under development so only a skeleton site is accessable at this time. A website for a rock band requires a style that's completely different from a business site making this a very interesting project to work on.

"Because more and more clients require online reels, I needed a video-focused website created as soon as possible. The site needed to be capable of streaming my clips directly to the user's desktop without any large downloads or incompatibility issues.

Paul took on this project and, within days, had a prototype up and running. Retaining as much of the videos' quality as possible was very important to me, and Paul really took the care to figure out the best way to encode the progressive downloads for my specific presentation. I was surprised how fast Paul responded to my revisions, and I appreciate that he continued to offer creative options I hadn't even considered. Paul really fine-tuned the site until I was completely happy with it, and his final product meets and exceeds what I had hoped for in the beginning." - Linda Veenpere.

Linda's website is intended for a very specific audience, i.e. film/television studio producers, so she had very precise requirements as to the layout and style of her site. This project was therefore more about coding than it was design. It was also imperative that the quality of Linda's portfolio videos was not unduly compromised during the conversion for the internet.
